MSAP & MYL

(U13-18)
WHAT IS MSAP?
MSAP is a unique developmental league exclusively offered by the Macarthur Football Association (MFA) for players aged U8-U12. Unlike traditional MiniRoo divisions, MSAP prioritises player development and provides a supportive environment for young athletes to learn and grow. While MSAP is non-competitive, it aims to create a platform where the best players in the age groups can play against each other. This exposure to high-quality competition can accelerate player development and prepare them for future challenges.
Football NSW have established ‘SAP Leagues’, which requires NPL Clubs and Associations to hold a license to participate. The establishment of a new local development League for SAP-aged players aims to provide more young players across the region with high-quality development opportunities. This ‘SAP League’ acts as the top tier of local football for such age groups.
The simple goal of the ‘Macarthur SAP League’ is to improve development opportunities for more players and coaches within the local clubs of Macarthur. As with other local Leagues, the ‘MSAP League’ will be managed and supported by the MFA. In 2026, this will also include the introduction of the ‘MSAP Development League’ which will sit as an underpinning program aimed at bridging the gap between MSAP and MiniRoos club football as well as providing competitive games against similar quality opposition.

WHAT IS MYL?
The MYL is the premier competition for our division 1 youth teams for players aged U13-U18.
Designed to elevate the standard of local youth football, this competition will allow our best players the opportunity to showcase their talents to the local football community and represents a key step in strengthening the player pathway within the Macarthur region.
The MYL is a commitment to the future of football in our region. This competition is designed to act as a launching pad for talented young players with aspirations to progress into representative football, including the National Premier Leagues (NPL 1, 2, and 3), and into our elite senior competition, the Wests Group Macarthur M-League.
Similar to our ‘Macarthur SAP League’, the simple goal of the MYL is to improve development opportunities for more players and coaches within the local clubs of Macarthur. The MYL will act as the top tier of local football for such age groups and will provide competitive games, against high-quality opposition, that will aim to elevate the quality and the progression opportunities for all involved.
Crucially, the MYL will be supported by several initiatives throughout the season including player development programs, such as our MFA Talent Development Program (TDP), and coach development opportunities such as our MYL Coaching Workshops. In 2026, the MYL will continue its development as a professional competition that offers a high-performance environment for all players and coaches.
